Stube set to expand

The Republic Bier Stube on Kilmarnock Road in Shawlands is undergoing a few changes to help make the place more comfortable for its customers.

The sister establishment to Gordon Street’s Republic Bier Halle, the refurbishment will see an increase in the number of tables in the restaurant, which will create extra space at the bar for busy nights.

As a result of the alterations, the bar will be closed from Sunday September 12, but will reopen with a vodka party on September 22.

Sponsored by Skyy Vodka, the distiller is providing Stube with enough of the clear stuff to mix up a couple of hundred free cocktails. And all night, customers will receive free tasters from the extensive food menu.

And, thanks to the larger floor area and extra seating, table service will be available.

Entertainment on the night will come courtesy of the Jet Set Go Go Lounge. The bash kicks off at 8pm.
