SMART bar owner Colin Barr – the bars we mean, not Colin – was delighted that his new Glasgow outlet, The Republic Uber Lounge, won the Best Concept award from the trade publication Theme Magazine at a ceremony at Edinburgh Castle. A delighted Colin, like many of the winners, took his staff for a celebratory drink afterwards to Fingers Piano Bar – which was why one of Colin's sore-headed crew had to phone Fingers next day and ask if the award, a camera, a mobile phone, a pair of shoes, a jacket and a tie had been handed in. "We have four missing awards here," said the weary Fingers staff.
